Family Cooking Workshops
Our family cooking workshops, hosted at participating schools, community centers, and libraries, are designed to help families build confidence, consistency, and joy in the kitchen, fostering lifelong food literacy by involving children in all aspects of household food preparation from an early age.
In each 8 week session, the kitchen is framed as the nucleus of the home, where children’s relationships with food are formed. Caregivers are encouraged to explore the many ways to involve young children (0-10 years old) in food preparation through simple recipes and lessons in a supportive, joyful environment. Winter sessions focus solely on the kitchen while spring, summer, and fall sessions incorporate the joys of gardening through engaging with existing gardens or through helping participating organizations build new gardens.
